Scrum

Usually I speak about Leadership and not Management. But if I do end up commenting on management, I usually say only two words: "use scrum".

And in case you're not familiar with Scrum, there are currently three key thought leaders whose names you need to know: Jeff Sutherland, Ken Schwaber and Mike Cohn. Sutherland & Schwaber are generally considered to be the inventors of Scrum. Cohn has arisen as their equally capable champion of Scrum. Having said all that, here are some Scrum resources I recommend.

Ken Schwaber's 2004 book on Scrum - it focuses on HOW to do Scrum.

Jeff Sutherland's 2014 book on Scrum - it focuses on WHY to do Scrum.

Mike Cohn's book on Agile estimating is essential for accurately estimating Scrum projects.
